I grew up in Youghal, Co.Cork, Ireland, where back in the day John Huston did some filming for Moby Dick. I came to the US to attend Boston University and began my filmmaking career in the grip and electric departments on films such as A CIVIL ACTION, THE PERFECT STORM, THE CIDER HOUSE RULES and THE WEDDING BANQUET.
I have been Director of Photography on numerous film and television projects -- narrative and documentary, feature length and short -- as well as commercial campaigns for clients including McDonald’s, Samsonite, K-Swiss and Titleist. I also have worked as a camera operator on several films including OLIVE KITTREDGE, THE FAMILY FANG and GOING IN STYLE.
I feel lucky to have learned my craft in the age of film. The spirit of collaboration and good storytelling keeps me coming back.
